Dieser Kurs ist eine Einführung in das Weben mit Restmaterialien auf einem vertikalen-Webrahmen. Sie bringen Reste aus Ihrem Alltag mit, z. B. Kleidung oder Gemüse-/Obstnetze. Gemeinsam lernen Sie, wie man einen Kettfaden auf dem vertikalen-Webrahmen wickelt, die Grundtechnik des Webens, und das Weberei vom Rahmen abzumachen. Der Kurs bietet Raum zum Austausch über weltweite Webenstraditionen, und wie die Fertigkeit angewendet werden kann, um unser gemeinsames Problem der maßlosen Verschwendung anzugehen. Falls Sie einen leeren Rahmen besitzen, bringen Sie ihn bitte zum Kurs mit. Sollten Sie keinen mitbringen, stellt der Kursleiterin Ihnen gerne einen Rahmen zur Verfügung. Keine kreativen Vorkenntnisse erforderlich.

Der Kurs wird durch Spenden finanziert. Spenden zwischen 0 und 60€ sind willkommen. Wer finanziell besser gestellt ist, wird gebeten, mehr zu geben und so allen den Zugang zu kreativem Lernen zu ermöglichen.

This course is an introduction to weaving with salvaged materials on a vertical-frame-loom. You should bring material scraps from your everyday life, such as clothing or produce nets. Together, we will learn how to wind a warp thread onto the loom, the basic weaving technique, and how to remove the weaving from the frame. The course offers a space to share about weaving traditions from around the world and how this skill can be applied to address our shared problem of excessive waste. If you have an empty frame, bring it to the course. If you don't have one, the instructor will be happy to provide one. No prior creative experience is necessary.

This course is funded by donations. Donations between €0 and €60 are welcome. Those who are financially better off are encouraged to give more, thus making creative learning accessible to everyone.

Zeichnen/Drawing

Dieser Kurs ist eine entspannte Einführung in das Zeichnen mit Natur als Motiven. Die Teilnehmer werden durch Übungen geführt, die sie dazu anregen, urteilsfrei zu zeichnen und das Hinsehen zu üben, um das 3D auf eine 2D Fläche zu übertragen. Nach den Übungen konzentrieren wir uns darauf, eine Zeichnung mit einer Ansicht/einem Motiv Ihrer Wahl fertigzustellen. Der Kurs richtet sich sowohl an Anfänger als auch an erfahrene Zeichner, die ihre Fähigkeiten in der Gruppe verfeinern und Unterstützung und Kritik erhalten möchten. Die Teilnehmer sollten trockenen Zeichenmaterialien und Papiere mitbringen, mit denen sie bevorzugt arbeiten.

This course is a relaxed introduction to drawing from life, with the subject of nature. Participants will be lead through exercises to encourage one to draw without judgment and to practice looking in order to translate the 3D subject onto a 2D surface. After the exercises we will focus on completing a drawing with the view/subject of your choice. The course is for beginners and also experienced drawers who want to hone their skills in a group context and receive support and critique. Participants should bring any dry drawing material and paper which they prefer to work with.

radical weaving collaboration at Floating University Berlin, part of the ReEDOcate Me! Festival Vom 17.10.22 - 20.10.22 – zwischen den beiden Wochenenden der öffentlichen Touren des Festivals – wird der postfossile Themenpark von ca. 50 Studierenden verschiedener Hochschulen besiedelt und als Experimentierraum genutzt. Es wird ein Lern- und Workshopprogramm geben, unter anderem mit Künstler*innen des Themenparks, Ausflügen zum Biobauern, zur Terra-Preta-Produktion und in die Berliner Rieselfelder, auf denen die ersten Bäume für den “Wald des schlechten Gewissens” gepflanzt werden. From 17.10. - 20.10. - between the two weekends of the public tours of the festival - the postfossil theme park will be populated by about 50 students from different universities and used as an experimental space. There will be a learning and workshop program, among others with artists of the theme park, excursions to the organic farm, to the Terra Preta production and to the Berlin Rieselfelder, where the first trees for the "Forest of Bad Conscience" will be planted.

2. weaving walls - mit Upsi (Künstlerin) sowie Nadia Fistarol (Bühnenbildnerin/ZHdK) und Lukas Sander (Bühnenbildner/ZHdK) Neben minimalistischer Essenskultur und Kunst war die Schiebetür aus Papier eine der großen Inventionen der Edo Periode. EIne liehcte wand aus wenig Material die sowohl die Privatssphäre schützt als auch dieselbe vor Wind und teilweise auch vor Wetter. Sie isoliert zwar nicht lässt aber das Licht hinein und kann den Raum in der Garten erweitern. In der Workhsop wollen wir ein neues Material und eine neue Konstruktionsmethode für die Wände der Floating University erproben: aus recycelten Tüten aus der Lebensmittelindustrie werden wir gemeinsam mit der Künstlerin Upsi Wände um den Speisesaal weben.

Beside minimalistic Foodculture and Art, the sliding paper wall was one of the great inventions of the Edo period. A light wall which protects the privacy from wind and looks, but lets the light and the temperature come in. Like wise we will build some light panels in the workshop, but rather than making them from paper, we will recycle different coloured industrial plastic bags from the food industry and weave them together. The walls will be implemented at the reEDOcate me! restaurant. Together with the artist Upsi we will look towards the Edo period for inspiration concerning reuse, repair and minimizing waste of still valuable materials from the food supply chains.

With every season the climate catastrophes increase in number and intensity. And yet capitalism plows on with its polluting and abusive practices, always trying to sell us something, to distract us. Today, we collaboratively transform large scale advertisement waste into a radical weaving. The collective act of sharing and learning the ancient weaving process and the resulting performance and sculpture are all forms of creative resistance. We will try, learn and therefore present an alternative way in which people can intentionally, peacefully and joyfully come together to clean up one part of one local ecosystem, one part of a whole earth.

Mit jeder Jahreszeit nehmen die Klimakatastrophen an Zahl und Intensität zu. Und doch fährt der Kapitalismus mit seinen umweltschädlichen und missbräuchlichen Praktiken fort und versucht immer, uns etwas zu verkaufen, uns abzulenken. Heute verwandeln wir gemeinsam groß angelegte Werbeverschwendung in ein radikales Weben. Der kollektive Akt des Teilens und Erlernens des alten Webprozesses und die daraus resultierende Performance und Skulptur sind allesamt Formen des kreativen Widerstands. Wir werden versuchen, lernen und daher einen alternativen Weg präsentieren, auf dem Menschen bewusst, friedlich und freudig zusammenkommen können, um einen Teil eines lokalen Ökosystems, einen Teil einer ganzen Erde, zu säubern.

Transformation Station is a nomadic safer-space for creative problem solving. The project invites participants to process excess plastic and fabric material through the technique of tapestry weaving. Salvaged material is both kept out of the waste processing system and implemented as raw material in teaching a new skill. The end goal of Transformation Station is to inspire a shift in behavior away from polluting consumerism and towards harm-reduction practices.

I currently offer Transformation Station at Haus der Materialisierung in Berlin where I build and maintain vertical-frame-looms, prepare materials and present the weaving process. Anyone can take part in weaving the current tapestry and learn how they might easily reproduce the loom setup at home.

Die Transformation Station ist ein nomadischer sicherer Ort für kreative Problemlösungen. Das Projekt lädt die Teilnehmer dazu ein, überschüssigen Kunststoff und andere Stoffreste in der Technik des Webens zu einem Wandteppich zu verarbeiten. Das wiederverwendete Material muss damit nicht mehr im Abfallsystem entsorgt werden und kann es als Rohstoff für die Vermittlung einer neuen Fähigkeit eingesetzt werden. Das Endziel der Transformation Station ist eine Verhaltensänderung: Weg vom umweltschädlichen Konsumismus hin zur Praxis der Schadensvermeidung.

Derzeit biete ich die Transformationsstation in Haus der Materialisierung in Berlin an. Dort baue und pflege ich vertikale Rahmenwebstühle und stelle den Webprozess vor. Jeder kann am Weben eines Wandteppichs teilnehmen und dabei lernen, wie er das Webrahmen-Setup zu Hause problemlos nachbilden kann. Das Weben von Wandteppichen ermöglicht einen gemeinsamen Prozess, bei dem jeder einzelne etwas beitragen kann. Es spielt keine Rolle, wer die letzte Reihe gewebt hat, jeder kann die nächste weben.
